Finnish Parks
Why Parks in Finland Are So Amazing
In Finland, there are plenty of parks within the large cities. Of course the small towns are entirely surrounded by nature and thus do not need parks. But the big cities always have parks. And I am not just talking about a park for the kids. No, I am talking about large nature reserves within the city centers and even just large areas without any buildings. In cities like Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku, there are plenty of different areas to escape the not so busy city and enjoy nature.
By now, it is obvious that Finns love nature and preserving it. In Helsinki alone, there are countless parks, each offering a different feel. They range from nature parks to water parks to kids parks. But the main element of each of these is nature. There is the Viikki Nature Reserve and the park in Haaga. Even the city center has a few patches of greenery around Töölönlahti and a botanical garden.
What makes the parks so wonderful is that they are always so well kept and that the people enjoy them. People don't go there to do drugs, they go there to read or enjoy the day with friends or by themselves. They don't litter and the parks are well kept. In general, parks in Finland are pristine.
